The special thing about your phone is that it's probably always on you, no matter where you find yourself. In this way your photos folder becomes the best reflection of all of the places you've been, and your phone becomes a sort of souvenir of your life during a certain period.

This is my phone gallery: all images taken on an iPhone, somewhere. I thought it would be fun to reflect this by displaying the photos by latitude and longitude, displaying the numerical span of my location over years.
